Community & Public Health Committee

Overview

The Community and Public Health committee is involved with organizing and supporting programs and events that serve the community and promote public health issues such as staying healthy. We hope to raise awareness of public health issues and to get pre-med students more involved with advocating for these issues because future physicians as well as other physicians need to know what is going on and how to deal with these issues.

Some of the ongoing projects of the Community and Public Health committee include:

  • Promoting the importance of nutrition to children
  • Teaching kids how to stay healthy
  • Volunteering at the LA Ronald McDonald House
  • Volunteering at Junior Blind of America

If you're interested in getting involved with Community and Public Health, all members are welcome to attend our weekly meetings. Also feel free to contact the committee chairs regarding any questions or concerns at cph@amsabruins.org
